PART A: INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT WHEN FLYING
Video Drone Services takes Privacy and Data Protection very seriously. We aim to comply with the following regulations and guidelines where they are relevant to our flight operations:
Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) Publication https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/drones
ICO Publication"In the picture: A data protection code of practice for surveillance cameras and personal information"
Zoom lenses are not currently fitted on our drone equipment; therefore we consider the potential for an accidental breach of privacy or data to be very low during routine operations, such as aerial videography and photography of large country houses and estates. The risk does increase whilst operating in "congested areas" (defined in the Air Navigation Order 2009 as being ‘any area of a city, town or settlement which is substantially used for residential, industrial, commercial or recreational purposes’), where the population density is likely to be higher and especially when hi-resolution, still images are taken that can be significantly "zoomed" in post-production before being pixelated.
By way of practical mitigation against these risks, Video Drone Services will:
Once the raw or post-production video or stills become the property of or are licensed to our clients, responsibility for compliance also transfers to the client as Video Drone Services has limited control over how the media is used.
